Greetings, Rotarians. We had a fast and productive August. Let's welcome September by re-activating our community project forces. Here is some information to think about:
1. Last Thursday was the 26th Rotary Charity Classic. Guests, golfers, volunteers, and all attendees seemed to enjoy themselves in spite of the cold weather. Thank you to all who participated and contributed to the event.
2. This Friday we will finally be back at Legends! We will be in Meeting Room D. You may enter at Door 22. By the way, returning to legends is a good time for us to ensure our dietary restriction list is accurate. If you have dietary restrictions, please send an email to Nick O'Toole or David Maynard.
3. Not to sound like a broken record, but...September means our work at Edith Cavell school and Forest Glen school will reconvene. The importance of these committees cannot be overstated: we're feeding children who might otherwise go without. These are great opportunities for fellowship through service. Let's achieve 100% member participation in service projects. More importantly, let's help feed the children.
4. Another opportunity to help feed children in need is through a program with BGC Riverview: 'Buy a Day'. With a donation of $125, you can 'Buy a Day' and feed 400 local children through BGC Riverview's established breakfast program. Should you wish to help out or have more information, you may connect with BGC Riverview's Community Engagement Coordinator, Sara Wodnisky at sarawodnisky@bgcriverview.com
5. The Rotary District 7815 Annual General Meeting is just around the corner. It will be held by Zoom on Tuesday September 19th, tentatively at 7:30 p.m. This will be the first D7815 AGM, so it may be a good one to attend (via Zoom). For those interested, you may find all AGM documents on the District 7815 website under Member Resources, District Documents.
See you back at Legends (Room D - enter by Door 22)
