Hello Fellow Rotarians,

I'm afraid I have to start by sharing some unfortunate news about one of our members (with his permission) - Mel Kennah had a bad fall earlier this week, in which he broke several vertebrae in his neck and his collar bone. Mel is at home now but will have a long recovery over the next few months. Mel appreciates the support of our club members, but is not up for visitors just yet, but we will update you when he is. I know many of you may also be wondering how you can offer help and we will update you in the coming weeks on possible ways. Mel, we are all wishing you a speedy recovery!

As many of you know, Mel was assisting in the collection of auction items for the golf tournament. Please bring any auction items, including any bottles of wine that can be packed together, for the auction items to Sharon Niles. You can connect with Sharon at dsniles99@gmail.com

All Rotary members, family and friends are warmly invited to participate and show their Rotary Pride.

Let’s celebrate together – with pride! 🏳️‍🌈

We are just over TWO WEEKS away from our annual Lobster Party, we need to ensure we have RSVPs/registrations for the Lobster Party (Friday, August 22nd). We are asking all members to register for this social event using the following form: Rotary MWR Lobster Party. It is very important that the social committee volunteers have attendance information so they can plan accordingly - ❗Please register no later than Thursday, August 14th ❗ If you need assistance using the form, please let me know at cathyblack47@hotmail.com

Thank you to all of you that were able to participate in last week's meeting where we brainstormed and discussed Community Service. I really enjoyed hearing the various ideas and the passion from each of you serving our community. It was easy to see why John Wishart has consolidated the meeting notes and I will share these in the coming weeks. There will also be an opportunity for further feedback and to hear from those who may not have made last week's meeting. I hope we can work on these ideas further together and that this will help drive the work of future community service projects and fundraising.

While we have Membership and Public Image Chairs and Committees, these areas are really all of our collective responsibilities as members of the Rotary Club of Moncton West and Riverview and Rotarians!

Challenge to each of you: Share the “Proud Member” graphic (Rotary) and post it on your social media channels. Write what makes you a Proud Member or what Rotary means to you and remember to include information about how people can check out your club, attend a meeting, or take part in a service project. Remember to tag our club if you post on Facebook. Let me know you posted and at our first meeting in September, I will do a draw for a prize of those who completed this challenge! 🏆
