Hello fellow Rotarians:
This Friday we will be meeting at Legends. Our speaker will be Dr. Marc Surette, who will be speaking about The Science of Nutrition. Social distancing and public health protocols must be followed. Those that are uncomfortable meeting in person can join using Zoom at the following link:
Our Board of Directors are closely monitoring recommendations regarding Covid-19. We are pleased that Legends is able to host us and are following recommended protocols. Please join us in person or using Zoom, if you prefer. The distribution of the vaccine is picking up and we look forward to the day when we can meet as we had before Covid-19.
Lets all give a big Rotary welcome to Darrell Nameth, who has agreed to be our President Elect (and the MWR Rotary Club President beginning July 1). He has a great deal of experience and we look forward to working with him. He will be an excellent President for our next Rotary year.
Our Ticket Draw Committee is working diligently to organize a Draw for the end of May. Details will follow as planning progresses.
Please volunteer to help Erin Hansen and her crew to pick-up plastic debris in Riverview this coming Saturday from 8:30-10:30 (weather permitting). Location will be determined tomorrow by the Town of Riverview. Contact Erin (email - deoe.hansen@gmail.com) for more information or to sign up. Now that the environment has become a Rotary’s seventh area of focus, we have an opportunity to initiate a new pandemic-friendly service project (beginning April 17th). Please consider lending a hand for an hour or two on a Saturday morning this spring to pick up plastic debris so it doesn’t end up in our oceans! Don’t worry, you won’t have to use your hands - we have special equipment for that. It’s a small job that makes a huge difference for our planet.
The following email regarding The Rotary Atlantic Conference was sent from Terry MacDonald (Executive Secretary Rotary District 7810) to Rotarians:
Dear Rotarians: Please join us for the Rotary Atlantic Conference - Rotary Reimagined & “A Round with Rotary” (May 14th & 15th) on Zoom. You can attend either event or both. How about joining your fellow Rotarians and non-Rotarians for a chance to reimagine service above self through Rotary’s Reimagined conference May15 ,2021. Hear speakers on a wide range of topics from peace to mental health techniques and for the future of Rotary in 2041! We have often heard that Rotarians want to have social time with other Rotarians and Friends. We have added a special evening the night before the conference on May 14th called “A Round with Rotary” More details will follow. Please read his email and click on the links for more information.
Please keep safe and I look forward to seeing you soon.
