Luncheon Meeting Update

Past District Governor Darren Hansen and RCMWR Strategic Plan Lead presented the RCMWR Action Plan to the membership. Total 34 members plus 2 guests attended the presentation.

In February 2024, at the request of then Past President Nicholas O'Toole, a Strategic Planning Committee was formed to lead the development of a new strategic plan for the RCMWR. The committee was led by Past District Governor Darren Hansen, with assistance from club executive members Sherry Mourant and Nicholas O'Toole

The development of the strategic plan (henceforth referred to as our Action Plan) was completed thorough a series of in person sessions attended by members of the club executive, board of directors, and committee chairs. At the request of current President Sherry Trenholm, the process continued thorough the Rotary year.

Darren confirmed the committee used the Rotary Strategic Planning Guide for Clubs (EN-619) to manage the development of the RCMWR Action Plan: The process was broken down into four phases:
  • Phase 1 - Determine your status, how is our club doing now?
  • Phase 2-Develop a vision, what do we want our club to be like?
  • Phase 3 - Make a plan, how can we achieve our vision?
  • Phase 4 - Track progress, how close are we to our goals?
Darren explained how each phase was completed, and the importance of the member satisfaction survey.
RCMWR Action Plan Vision Statement

"Together we see a future where people unite and take action to improve lives & create lasting change - in our communities and in ourselves."

This new Action Plan will assist the club members and leadership in planning our path forward to be vibrant, active and engaged for many years to come.

A huge thank you to Darren Hansen for completing this excellent Action Plan presentation and being the lead on the RCMWR strategic planning.

Guests Welcomed

If you are bringing a guest(s) to our upcoming RCMWR luncheon meeting, please confirm their attendance as soon as possible to Jamie Smith, Club Sergeant-at-Arms and President Sherry Trenholm. Kindly provide their name and any dietary restrictions so we can make the necessary arrangements. Guest ticket is $35/luncheon.

At the Legends Restaurant staff prepare meals for 40 attendees at each RCMWR luncheon meetings so when we exceed this number of attendees or request special dietary meals at the last minute it is very challenging for the staff to accommodate.

Thank you for your cooperation!

Exchange Student Weekend Adventures

RCMWR Exchange Student Bension, his host family, along with President Sherry, her mom Faye and partner Kevin Power attended the amazing Spring Concert featuring Moncton Youth Orchestra (MYO) Strings and MYO Band, joined by the Codiac Concert Band! This exciting program included Fuga con Parajillo, Wicked, Lincolnshire Posy, and the wildly entertaining Godzilla Eats Las Vegas. Benison loved the concert! Enjoy the photos.

Special Thank you

The development of the RCMWR Action Plan has taken significant time and effort on the part of many members.  Thank you to Past President Nicholas O'Toole and President Sherry Trenholm and all club executive, board members, committee chairs and members who have participated in the process. My thanks to the club leadership team for trusting me to facilitate this process on behalf of our members.
