Greetings, Rotarians. Tomorrow is our club's Holiday Party. Come one, come all!

 

For your information:

 

1. Tomorrow is our annual holiday party at Legends Lounge. Please note, there will be no noon meeting. Instead: cocktail hour at 5:30 p.m. and a sit down dinner around 6:30 p.m. Greg Turner will host the Yankee Swap. Guests are welcomed but will be subject to a charge of $35.00. If a guest would like to participate in the Yankee swap, they should also come with a gift to make sure we have the right numbers for the exchange. Here are the rules for our club's Yankee swap:

 

In Yankee Swap, each participant brings a wrapped, unmarked gift and places it in a designated area. Guests are given numbers as they arrive. Numbers are randomly drawn, and they select and unwrap gifts from the pile in that order — but there is a twist. The first person chooses a gift from the gift pile, opens the gift for all to see, and keeps it for the time being.  The next person can immediately unwrap a new gift or swap it with another person's gift.  This goes on until all of the gifts are open.  The very last number gets to choose from all of the gifts in the room.

 

2. As part of our annual holiday party, please consider bringing a gift for Moncton Headstart's annual Toyland fundraiser. This initiative ensures children in Greater Moncton have gifts under the tree for Christmas each year.

 

3. A webinar is being offered on December 6, 2023 at 3pm. The topic is "Unleash the Power of Travel Fundraising for Your Rotary Club" President of the Rotary Club of Dartmouth East, Kevin Connors, will share insights on how travel fundraising can be a source of income for rotary clubs. 4. Looking ahead, please mark these dates in your calendars:

 

- December 15, 2023: club's Annual General Meeting. If you are interested, please consider putting your name forward for the position of Secretary. The Charity's Board AGM will also take place on this date.

 

- December 19, 2023: Pizza Day at Forest Glen.

 

- December 20, 2023: Pizza Day at Edith Cavell.

 

- December 29, 2023: NO CLUB MEETING.

 

- January 5, 2023: New Year's Levee at Brix. 

 

- February 9, 2023: Charter Night at Spruce & Iron (Moncton Golf Club).

 

- May 25-29: Rotary International Convention in Singapore.

 

- June 14-16: District Conference is in St. Pierre & Miquelon. 

 

- June 20-23: Ribfest 2024 at Riverfront Park. This is an all-hands-on deck event for our club and you are asked to reserve some time in your calendars so that you can volunteer.
