Charter Night: Last Friday evening, we celebrated our Moncton West and Riverview Rotary Charter Night. We celebrated our club’s 48th anniversary. It was a fun evening with David Alward as our keynote speaker. Colin Reeves received special recognition with the Merrill Henderson Service Above Self Award. Please congratulate him on this great achievement when you see him.
As we shift into February, I am noticing it’s getting cold out there! During the pandemic lots of things have slowed down or come to a full stop. However, homelessness has not taken a break because of COVID-19. The good news is our Rotary Club is doing something about it. We are a lead sponsor for Coldest Night of the Year set to happen nationwide on February 20th. Seven Club members and some of their friends have reformed the Dream Team led by Past President Ian Franklin. Ian’s fund-raising team is in second place in Canada among over 3,000 teams. I ask our Club members to consider supporting the team or one of its walkers to further this great cause. Thanks for considering raising some cold hard cash for the hungry, the hurting and the homeless.
