I'm writing today from sunny but chilly central Newfoundland. In my travels this week, I drove by two Rotary parks in Grand-Falls Windsor and Gander, reminding me how we are connected with some many Rotary Clubs in our district and world! The Cobb's Pond Rotary Park was featured in this year's “Amazing Race Canada” Gander episode.
Special shout out to Rotarians Sharon Niles, David Maynard, David Close, Maria Mutch, Roberto Palma Balarezo, Lisa Gallagher, Brian MacDonald, and Allen MacLellan, who all helped a member of our local Ukrainian community with shuttle services for cancer treatments and appointments. Special thanks goes to Eric Mourant for bringing this to the Club members and coordinating this service.
Below is a letter of appreciation we received from the Ukrainian Association of Moncton.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITITES

BGC Moncton is looking for volunteers to assist with their Haunted Escape Night event on Saturday, November 1st. The event will have three time slots with five groups of five kids each. The BGC needs help with volunteers to help guide people through the maze, hidden jump scarers or people guiding the time in the doors of each room.
The volunteer schedules will be approximately 4 to 9 pm but more details can be provided upon contact.
Please contact Colby.stright@bgcmoncton.com or Mariana.botero@bgcmoncton.com if you can help!

Other items of note for the week:
Our Edith Cavell Lunch Program is up and running this week, providing 60 lunches to students in need at the school on all days of the week when there is school (5 days a week generally, but there are of course many weeks with holidays and PD days). We have 22 of our approximately 60 members (and some of their family members) helping with this important community service activity.
This week's meeting should be back in Meeting Room D
This year's holiday party will be held on the evening of Friday, December 5th at Legends. There will be no noon meeting. More details to come next week.
Next week's meeting, Friday, November 7th, is our club's AGM and will be held at the Alma City Club. Please attend if you are able, and if you cannot, please send your proxy vote form to Jamie Smith.
I will miss this Friday's meeting due to my vacation/travel. Have a great meeting and weekend!
Yours in Rotary,
Catherine
