This Friday we will be meeting at Legends and our speaker will be Christine Allain who will be speaking about the Dolly Parton Imagination Library! Social distancing and public health protocols must be followed. Those that are uncomfortable meeting in person can join using Zoom at the following link:
The Ticket Draw is this Friday. The committee is doing an amazing job with 1,150 tickets distributed. If you need more tickets, please contact your team captain, or Juergen or Andrew. We only have 2 days left to sell any of our remaining tickets so lets all try to think of another couple of people to contact.
As you are aware, we have our Rotary Ribfest coming June 25-27 which will be a drive-in style service. The volunteer positions are easier to manage and with 3 hour shifts. You can choose the day, time and duty you wish, but pick them early as they tend to be going quickly. An email with a link to volunteer has been sent to all MWR Rotarians so please sign up and help our club support our many charities through this great fund raising/community engagement event.
The District 7810 Indigenous Relations team invites Rotarians to attend a Zoom session with Elder Noel Milliea on June 21st from 630-830pm, in celebration of National Indigenous Peoples Day and National Indigenous History Month. More details will be available soon on the District 7810 Facebook page. Noel is an amazing speaker and I am sure you will leave inspired.
As you may all recall, the End Polio Now Tulip program was instigated by Pam Harrison and it is entirely fitting that, in her memory, Districts 7810 and 7820 are continuing the program and the goal this year is to exceed last years sales and the funds raised for the End Polio Now fund.
As before, Colin Reeves is coordinating the sales of Tulip Boxes within the Club. Orders must be placed by 31 July 2021 and, as before, the cost is $25 per box of 25 Tulips and you will be invoiced with your monthly bill in August. If you have any questions, please contact Colin or Lisa Gallagher who is one of the District Coordinators for this fundraiser.
And … from our 7810 District Governor, John Slipp:
