RCMWR members welcomed two new members, Kehinde Balogun and Felipe Botero, joining our club. This week both are featured in the bulletin. All future RCMWR bulletins during my term as President will include a photo and brief write-up on club members.
Congratulations and thank you to Rob Reed, Ali Ahmar, Gary Jewett and Karla McLean for your excellent classification talks last meeting. Awesome job and now your fellow Rotarians have requested we do more classification talks.
Congratulations to Rotarians Karla McLean and Monica Hudson who took 8 youth exchange students from Denmark, Japan, France (2), Norway, Belgium and Finland to Grand Manan for the night and received a tour of the entire Island from a resident Rotarian.
Karla confirmed they were billeted out to local host families; the teens loved them, and the locals were so excited that they were there! The students enjoyed the ferry, beach, swam in the Bay of Fundy and saw some porpoises. On the way back, the group stopped in Saint John, and enjoyed a visit to the reversing falls. They also went sailing in Shediac and visited Hopewell Rocks as well. Next stop PEI and Halifax before returning to Ontario.
Amazing group photo of students at the end of their youth exchange year in Ontario, on a tour of the Atlantic Provinces.
Karla stated it was a privilege to chaperone this group and meet other Rotarians.
