Greetings, Rotarians. Your forgiveness for this tardy bulletin is appreciated. For your consideration:
1. Alert: The Rotary District 7815 Annual General Meeting has been postponed. It is no longer scheduled for September 19, 2023. The new date will be circulated once that information has been made available.
2. Our school service projects are back up and running! There is a healthy list of volunteers at both Edith Cavell and Forest Glen. But there is always room for more support. Great way to get involved, serve an in-need population, and live the motto "fellowship through service". Reach out to John Wishart if you can lend a hand at Forest Glen. Reach out to Sue Murray if you can lend a hand at Edith Cavell.
3. Last Friday, Morocco was struck by a powerful 6.8 magnitude earthquake. This is where ShelterBox steps up. Did you know that as official project partners, Rotary and ShelterBox work together to ensure no family is left without shelter after disasters? Let's be mindful of the good work ShelterBox does. Besides making a donation (ShelterBox Canada - 200 - 2010 Winston Park Drive, Oakville, ON L6H 5R7), is there something more our members can do to support ShelterBox?
4. Looking ahead: Polio day is coming up - October 24, 2023. Our club has a history of plastering bill-boards advertising polio day for several years. Here are two questions: is this the right approach to spread this message? Is there a better return on our investment?
See you tomorrow in our regular meeting room at Legends!
