thanks to Jon andrews and Marc Lapointe for organizing another successful fun golf tournament. Excellent turnout and the weather co-operated. Great event!

How did The Rotary Foundation get Started?

The Rotary Foundation was founded in 1917 by Rotary International’s sixth president, Arch C. Klumph, as an endowment fund for Rotary “to do good in the world.” It has grown from an initial contribution in 1917 of $26.50 from the Rotary Club of Kansas City, Missouri to more than $4.4 billion dollars in total contributions. The Rotary Foundation made its first grant of $500.00 to the International Society for Crippled Children in 1930, and to this day it continues to “do good in the world” in the name of Rotary.

The golf committee is preparing for the 24th annual IG Wealth Management Rotary Charity golf classic on August 26 at Royal Oaks. Please mark your calendars to pay or potentially volunteers. Mel and Sharon will be looking for auction items: on-line once again this year.

More orders for tulips? The End Polio Now Tulip program was instigated by Pam Harrison and Districts 7810 and 7820 are continuing the program. Colin Reeves is coordinating the sales of Tulip Boxes within the Club. Orders must be by 31 July 2021. The cost is $2per box of 25 Tulips and you will be invoiced with your monthly bill in August. If you have any questions, please contact Colin or Lisa Gallagher who is one of the District Coordinators for this fundraiser.
