We were pleased to induct Sandra Tataw last Friday. welcome Sandra.
Congratulations to Nigel Bayliss on being selected as Rotarian of the Year (2019-2020). Well deserved my friend!
The golf committee is preparing for the 24th annual IG Wealth Management Rotary Charity golf classic on August 26 at Royal Oaks. We are still short a couple of sponsors and golfers. Please let Mel or Sharon know if you can find some auction items.
Rotary has embarked on a $250,000 project to help our friends in Ghana, part of which includes fully equipped mobile medical unit that Malley Industries will be outfitting. They also have several pallets of medical materials that cannot be used here but would be useful in Ghana. They just need help sorting the materials. We would like to help by spending a few hours helping out.
Please let me know if you join us next Tuesday and/or Thursday afternoon.
Thank you to those who ordered boxes of tulips: 79 boxes sold which is very good news for End Polio Now.
A note from Ken MacLeod:
"Sistema New Brunswick is one of Canada's most extensive and rapidly expanding programs for young musicians, and Shinie Wagaarachchi is living proof of its success.” CBC Music, Top 30 Under 30
We congratulate Shinie Wagaarachchi for her dedication and achievement. At 12 years of age, Shinie is the youngest recipient of the ‘30 hot Canadian classical musicians under 30, 2021 edition’. And this is the second year in a row one of our musicians was selected for the CBC Music Top 30 Under 30.
We look forward to welcoming Shinie as one of the newest musicians to the New Brunswick Youth Orchestra in the upcoming season.
We are grateful for the continuing encouragement, support and partnership of the Moncton West and Riverview Rotary Club, for helping to make opportunities like this possible for children and families throughout New Brunswick.
