1. Be sure to join us tomorrow to hear from both Ian Franklin on the topic of Foundation month (recall: November is Foundation Month and November 28, 2023 is "Giving Tuesday" which is a global day of generosity). is an opportunity for all members to make a big impact, with a gift of any size that supports projects you're passionate about. 2. Another great reason to be at tomorrow's meeting: we will have a presentation from our exchange student, Carolina Garcia. Thank you, Ian and Carolina.

 

3. Next week is Rotary MWR's annual holiday party. December 1, 2023. Cocktail hour at 5:30 p.m. and a sit down dinner around 6:30 p.m. Greg Turner will host the Yankee Swap. Guests are welcomed but will be subject to a charge of $35.00. If a guest would like to participate in the Yankee swap, they should also come with a gift to make sure we have the right numbers for the exchange.

 

4. A webinar is being offered on December 6, 2023 at 3pm. The topic is "Unleash the Power of Travel Fundraising for Your Rotary Club" President of the Rotary Club of Dartmouth East, Kevin Connors, will share insights on how travel fundraising can be a source of income for rotary clubs. 5. At last week's meeting, Sue Murray informed us that Moncton Headstart is in need of extra support for this year's toyland drive. Moncton Headstart's "Toyland" ensures kids in the Greater Moncton area have gifts under the tree for Christmas each year. Please consider donating to this important initiative. We will be collecting donations at our December 1, 2023 holiday party, but you may of course donate outside of that date.

 

6. Looking ahead, please mark these dates in your calendars:

 

- December 15, 2023: club's Annual General Meeting. If you are interested, please consider putting your name forward for the position of Secretary. The Charity's Board AGM will also take place on this date.

 

- December 29, 2023: NO CLUB MEETING.

 

- January 5, 2023: New Year's Levee at Brix. 

 

- February 9, 2023: Charter Night at Spruce & Iron (Moncton Golf Club).

 

- May 25-29: Rotary International Convention in Singapore.

 

- June 14-16: District Conference is in St. Pierre & Miquelon. 

 

- June 20-23: Ribfest 2024 at Riverfront Park. This is an all-hands-on deck event for our club and you are asked to reserve some time in your calendars so that you can volunteer.
