Greetings, Rotarians. 

Happy New Year and Cheers to 2024

 

Here is a list of club updates:

 

1. Tomorrow's meeting is the club's annual "New Year's Levee". It is at Brix (245 St. George Street, Moncton). Doors open at 1130am and will end at or before 130pm. To state the obvious: there will be no meeting at Legends tomorrow because we will be at Brix.

 

2. URGENT: We still require a host family for youth exchange student, Arthur, from January 6, 2024 until some time in or about April, 2024. Please reach out to Jesse Kerpan (yeo@rotarymwr.ca) or Nick O'Toole (Nicholas@actuslaw.com) if you can help or if you know of someone who can help out.

 

3. Rotary Leadership Institute (RLI) Level 1 is being held virtually starting next Thursday, January 10 and running 3 consecutive Thursdays (from 630pm - 830pm). Those who complete this Level 1 offering will be eligible to participate in a virtual offering of Level 2 on February 1, 8, and 15th. For those who don't know: RLI is a program providing quality education in Rotary knowledge and leadership skills to Rotarians interested in developing their Rotary participation. You will learn about Rotary and foster skills that will benefit your lives and your volunteer service. Here is a link to register:

4. Our youth exchange students are going skiing this month and they would like to borrow equipment. Please let Jesse Kerpan or Nick O'Toole know if you have equipment they may borrow. Here are the sought-after sizes:

- size 10 ladies (41 Euro) boots plus skis & poles; and

 

- size 10 men (43 Euro) boots plus skis & poles.

 

5. Please mark these dates in your calendars:

 

- January 5, 2024 (tomorrow!): New Year's Levee at Brix (245 St. George Street, Moncton). Doors open at 11:30 am and things will finish up at or before 1:30pm.

 

- February 9, 2024: Charter Night at Spruce & Iron (Moncton Golf Club).

 

- May 25-29: Rotary International Convention in Singapore.

 

- June 14-16: District Conference is in St. Pierre & Miquelon. 

 

- June 20-23: Ribfest 2024 at Riverfront Park. This is an all-hands-on deck event for our club and you are asked to reserve some time in your calendars so that you can volunteer.
