Every May, Rotary clubs around the world turn their attention to young people. Not because youth service is seasonal, but because shared focus creates momentum.

Our Club has a proud history of supporting Youth in many ways, one of which is through Rotary Youth Exchange, which gives students ages 15 to 19 the chance to live and study abroad, sponsored by Rotary clubs in more than 100 countries. Students learn a new language, discover another culture, and return home with a wider view of the world.

A special SHOUT OUT goes to our amazing Youth Services Chair, Jesse Kerpan, as well as members Nadine Larche and Julianna Mutch who have both been big supporters of RYE students the past few years.
As our current students' time wraps up with us in just a few short months, please connect with Jesse or Julianna if you have some activities you can include our students in.
How are your ticket sales going? We are just over two weeks away and this could be our BIGGEST fundraiser of the year and I encourage you to set some dedicated time to makes some calls, text, emails, or posts to sell your tickets. This fundraiser is definitely an “all hands on deck” affair and we need everyone to do their best to make this successful!
Wondering where our upcoming meetings are? Here's a quick rundown:
We did have quite a few guests last week, putting us over the number we order for catering. This was mostly because there were three guest speakers plus three in attendance for a cheque presentation. We love to see guests, but it does help us plan and make our meeting go smoothly if we have a better idea on how many guests we can expect. If possible, please email our Sargent-at-arms, David Maynard, with an FYI if you are bringing guests.
As well, as a reminder and/or info for new members, David also handles providing our caterer with any dietary accommodations. David requires anyone with a dietary accommodation to email their planned attendance to him by noon on the Wednesday preceding the meeting. Please connect with David if you need to be added to his distribution list
Lastly, you may be wondering the next few weeks: “Where in the world are all our Presidents?”
Well, this President is off for some rest and relaxation in picture #1 above, while the Past President and the President-Elect are off in picture # 2 for a Rotary Friendship Exchange.
Wishing you a wonderful next few weeks and meetings and looking forward to hearing about record ticket sales when I get back!
Yours in Rotary,
Catherine
