Ernie Steeves, Former MLA Moncton Northwest and Minister of Finance of New Brunswick awarded Rotarian Ketan Ravel with The King Charles lll Coronation Medalin recognition of his outstanding volunteer work in the community.
Ernie Steeves recognition is noted below:
"Ketan Raval has been a vital part of the Moncton community since he arrived. As the leader of Moncton Cares, he has supported 3,000 newcomers annually and over 10,000 in the last 3-4 years, making Moncton more welcoming and inclusive.
Ketan also volunteers with many organizations like Rotary, the Progress Club, and the Lions, inspiring others to give back. As a newcomer himself, he shows how volunteerism and community service can create meaningful change.
Ketan truly represents the spirit of helping and building a stronger community."
The Coronation Medal program was created to mark the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III. It recognizes individuals who have made a significant contribution to a particular province, territory, region or community in Canada, or attained an outstanding achievement abroad that brings credit to our country. The Governor General is one of many nominators across Canada. In total, the medal will be awarded to 30 000 deserving individuals.
Rotary Endowment Fund
On November 8, 2024, Don Sword,
District Endowment / Major Gift Chair (DEMC), Rotary District 7815 completed an excellent Rotary endowment awareness presentation to the Club members.
Don stated the RCMWR is the third largest club in District 7815 which includes 81 clubs. Don expressed tremendous gratitude and thanked the RCMWR club members that have donated over US$630K to the Rotary Foundation since inception in 1917. He also confirmed our club has 15 Benefactors, 13 Bequest Society Members and 5 Major Donors.
Don's presentation included information on the immediate impact of the annual gifts, individual and club recognition, long term impact with gifts to the Endowment, making a bequest to theRotary Foundation Canada, Rotary's Promise Club and D7815 Major Gifts (US$10,000 & up) Campaign.
The Rotary Foundation is an Award-Winning Worldwide Charity (including the Canadian branch) and has 7 focus areas:
1. Peace and Conflict Prevention/Resolution
2. Disease Prevention/Treatment
3. Water and Sanitation
4. Maternal and Child health
5. Basic Education and Literacy
6. Economic and Community Development
7. Protecting the Environment

Next Strategic Planning Session
Scheduled for Saturday, November 16, 2024, from 10 am to 2 pm with 1 hour for lunch break (11:30 am to 12:30 pm) at the YWCA Moncton, located at 135 Kendra Street.
Lunch will not be provided to attendees.
On this date see you at the YWCA Moncton main entrance door adjacent the parking lot will be open at 9:45 am. Session goal is to complete Phases 3 and 4 of the Strategic Planning in one day.
