As we gather this week, let’s take a moment to reflect with a Thought for the Day:
“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” — Mahatma Gandhi
This quote reminds us why we are here—not just to connect, but to make a difference. Whether through small acts or large projects, every effort we make contributes to a better world.
Let’s continue to lead with heart, serve with purpose, and uplift each other as we move forward in our Rotary journey.
What is your favorite thing about being a Rotarian?
To give back to the community and be of service to those in need.
Tell us something others might not know about you?
I was scared of ostriches when I was 7 years old.
Congratulations on Your Graduation!
Warmest congratulations to Rotarian Anissa Mustafa (shown in the photo below) onher recent graduation from the Master's in Management program at Crandall University!
Anissa's hard work, dedication, and perseverance have truly paid off, and this milestone is a testament to her commitment to excellence. RotaryMWR is confident you'll continue to make a meaningful impact both professionally and in our Rotary community.
Forest Glen School 18 Hole Mini Putt
Congratulations to Michelle Phillips LeBlanc, teacher at Forest Glen School (shown in the photo below with Superintendent Randy MacLean) for her annual "Bring a V.I.P. to the V.I.TEE." mini golf course!
Seven (7) of the 18 holes were designed and constructed by the grades 3 & 4 classes over the last couple of months as a STEM challenge (project-based learning experience).
The students did an amazing job!
Students chose the following themes: anime, Tetris, space, Canada's resources, hockey, lego and art. For the first year ever, a class included coding in their project.
Students invited guests to play with them during their Physical Education classes. President Sherry Trenholm and Rotarians Atilio Guerrero and John Wishart as shown in the photos below embraced the opportunity to visit this incredible mini golf course.

RotaryMWR Edith Cavell (EC) School Lunch Program Presentation
Congratulations and tremendous thank you ECCommittee Chair Karla McLean for her leadership, and excellent presentation on the EC Lunch Program.
RotaryMWR adopted EC in 2011. At this time 45% of the school families were single-parent families and the students represented over 65 different countries.
RotaryMWR has provided medals for the winners of intra-mural programs, served pancake breakfast, spaghetti supper at the parent teacher night, planted flowers and trees at Victoria Park and 2 trees at the school provided by Darrell Nameth, the owner of Lawn Rangers Landscaping, and supplied 70 iPads to the middle school students during the pandemic. In addition, RotaryMWR volunteered to do painting at EC and in 2015 completed a $28,000 kitchen renovation.
The involvement of the RotaryMWR has made a visible difference to EC School – staff and students know and smile at us when we are in their school. Our RotaryMWR sign proudly hangs in the hallway by the public entrance to the school. It reads simply: “Rotary Club of Moncton West & Riverview, Proud Partners with the Students, Staff and Parents of Edith Cavell School.”
A special thank you to Edith Cavell School Principal Angela Pleshka and Vice Principal Tyler Hardy for a PowerPoint presentation on Edith Cavell School highlighting the following information:
