Hello Fellow Rotarians,
As the cooler autumn days settle in and the vibrant colors of fall surround us, we are reminded that this is also the season of gratitude and thanksgiving. ๐๐ฆ๐
And while there is much work to be done in service for our Club and our community, I'm thankful to be able to learn and collaborate together.

The Rotary theme for October is Community Economic Development, a reminder of our role in strengthening local economies and creating opportunities for sustainable growth. This month, we celebrate the ways Rotary helps communities thrive by supporting small businesses, providing networking and professional development opportunities, and empowering people to build brighter futures.

While I put in our draft calendar that we may have an informal social event on October 23rd could with a trivia night at Magnetic Hill Winery, I think its best for us put this on the list of things to do at another time (although this event is open to anyone who does want to participate - there is no cost to register)
Instead, I hope many of our Club members will join the Moncton Rotary Club on October 23rd to celebrate World Polio Day. An opportunity to not only enjoy some great local drinks and company, but to make a lasting difference in the fight against polio. For over 30 years, Rotary has been at the forefront of global efforts to eradicate this devastating disease, and thanks to events like this one, weโre closer than ever to a polio-free world. Every dollar raised will help fund crucial vaccinations and outreach, through Rotary International. Tire Shack will donate a portion of every drink purchased to the cause.
๐ต: Price is $25 which includes finger foods.

Our Club has supported BGC Riverview in various ways over the years, formally through volunteering with their refundables program and through financial contributions from the Charity from our fundraising efforts.
Another way in which we can support is through attending their fundraising events. Their annual โGarage Nightโ is a lively and fun evening dedicated to the men in our community! This year's event will take place on Oct. 16th. This is the perfect opportunity to gather some Rotary friends to enjoy a night out while supporting a great cause.

And last but not least, thank you to Darren, Andrew, Richard and John W. (and any others who helped out behind the scenes that I may have missed) for the preparation and presentation of the Charity's AGM last week.
One of the questions from members was about how organizations can apply for funding. This information is found on our Charity's page on our website:
Charities Support, where you can find the
Application Guidelines/Checklist. Feel free to share this information with organizations who may be a fit for donations.
See you at LEGENDS on Friday!
Yours in Rotary,
Catherine
